Endorsements and Qualifications

users/members/ENDORSEMENTS_AND_QUALIFICATIONS.md

This guide explains member-facing endorsement behavior in Contact Ground.

1. What Endorsements Are

Endorsements are qualification records assigned by your organization.

They are used to:

  1. Control access to endorsement-restricted resources.
  2. Grant selected feature access (for example, Blog posting in News).

2. Where to View Your Endorsements

  1. Open People.
  2. Find your own member record/card.
  3. Review endorsement badges.

3. How Endorsements Affect Booking

When a resource requires endorsements, booking checks enforce those requirements.

If you are missing required endorsements, the booking flow may not allow the reservation.

4. Getting a New Endorsement

Members cannot self-assign endorsements.

To add one:

  1. Complete the required training/checkout process.
  2. Ask an authorized instructor/admin to update your record.

5. Endorsement Removal

If an endorsement is removed:

  1. Booking access tied to that endorsement is removed.
  2. Existing/future reservations may need operations review depending on policy.

6. Special Case: Blog Endorsement

Blog endorsement can allow a standard member to post/edit their own News entries.
